Armands and O'Fame are related as family. O'Fames owner learned the art in the Armand's kitchen many years ago. . I have loved their product for over 30 years.

Caponies on Harlem closed with a sign in the window saying they are remodeling, and will reopen in mid May. The place is cleaned out. If they do remodel, I might start eating there again. The old layout was a mess.

Is that Armand's related to a pizza chain with the same name in the DC area?

A couple of comings and goings spotted around my 'hood:

Closed: Yuca Cafe, 2257 W. North Ave.

Opening: Antique Taco, 1360 N. Milwaukee Ave.
This is the old Milwood Bar & Grill and promises the curious combination of "Market Mexican Fare, Drink Worthy Cocktails, Old Antiques".

I am looking forward to this because it's close to our home and Milwood was truly awful.

Ate at the Belden Deli in the Mallers Bldg today. Still wishing for Hong Kong Cafe (weren't they going to reopen somewhere?). Belden was better than I anticipated - I had the chopped salad and it was nothing great, but I'm pretty picky about fresh, and there was nothing to complain about, which is more than I can say about many Loop lunch salads at the price - a huge salad for $7.95. The room is not much changed from HKC days, maybe freshened a bit, and a little fuller, but far from crowded at peak lunch hour.

The story reports that the owners, Michael and Susan Maddox, want to spend more time with their family and have gotten a good offer for the property. The building will be razed to support a retail center.

But the shame: According to yesterday's Mount Prospect Journal, it will be replaced by a Hair Cuttery, a Qdoba and a Caribou Coffee.

First time post so forgive me if this should be in another thread, but does anyone know what is happing with I Monelli in Lincoln Square? Yelp reviews have been poor recently and the website was updated last month noting they would be closed Mondays thru the end of May.

Then I walked by last night (Wednesday) and they were closed for "remodeling."

I drove by last night on my way home from work, and they were open and looked pretty busy. Hope they're over whatever problems they were having, as I quite like that place.

    That's a simple recipe:

Step 1: In Wooden longship, place viking in center, surrounded by jewels and combustible materials.
    Step 2: Set on fire.

The Family Video at Camp McDonald Rd. and Wolf Rd is changing into a place called Marco's Pizza. Apparently, it's a chain.

What's interesting is that at some point, the video rental's going to come back to the location.

We'll see how they stack up to Salerno's.

Yes, we have actually added Armands to our pizza delivery (sometimes pick up) rotation. I'm a fan of their thin crust, which reminds me of O'Fame's pizza. I had no idea there was a connection until it was mentioned earlier in this post.

As I remember, O"Fame opened around 1980 on Webster and Halsted, after the O"Fame owner learned the business from his (I believe) uncle at Armands in Elmwood Park. I loved both places. Nice people, great thin crust pizza.

Yep, no clear evidence of remodeling, but I can confirm that the pizza's as good as ever (in my opinion) so hopefully things are looking up for them.
