Middle of Indiana

This Saturday, I'm driving from the Chi to Converse, Indiana, to pick up a bicycle I won on eBay. This takes me to the middle of the state from the northwest corner and I think I'm probably going to need something to eat. Any recommendations anywhere in Converse or thereabouts? Barbecue? Local flavor? I assume I'll pass plenty of the usual, but would love to try something different.

I'll second the request. This Sunday Iam headed to Hammond - not nearly the
center of Indiana, just over the border actually. But even so - any local
flavour or BBQ? Anwhere good nearby for the famed tenderloin sandwich,
for instance? Or should one just stick to the South burbs of Chicago as
usual (ie Lem's etc, whichever is open on a Sunday?)
