Haven't been to Logan Square area since it became cool. Going with an 18 year old to a comic-book store on Kedzie, need an early dinner. Prefer to park once and walk, otherwise no limitations really.

    Thanks.

    sujormik-

Have you done search to find out what might be near your destination? Logan Square has a number of good options like Lula Cafe, Longman & Eagle and Yusho, among others.

There is also Dunlays on the square right around the corner from Lula. Its not as trendy but I have gone there and enjoyed what I had.

Those streets (Kedzie/Mozart) run parallel to each other. I don't thing they converge before hitting the Arctic Circle.

I was thinking the same thing. Mozart's just west of California (2800 W) and Kedzie's further W at 3200. There's LOTS of good places on or near Kedzie but we'd probably need to know a bit more about how far north or south the OP is intending.

There is a comic book store on the same block as Longman & Eagle.

Others mentioned Lula, Buona Terra and Owen & Engine are a short walk east.

I spend a lot of time in that area. If you are going to G - Mart, then you do have a few good options. Lula Cafe is on the Square.

Rewster's is on Diversey, just east of Kedzie. It's a great place with good soups, sandwiches and a small selection of entrees. Since you're with an under-age person, I am guessing you won't mind the lack of alcohol. They serve Dark Matter coffee, which is great.

The Rewster's Grilled Cheese is awesome. You can get it with honey butter or truffle butter - either application is an creamy umami explosion. Also very good is the VLT (Veal Lettuce and Tomato). I have not had the burgers but they sound really good. The bacon peanut butter one may be one of my next meals.

    I love Rewsters.

I hope you enjoy wherever you choose and there are some really good restaurants around there. I do want to caution you on a couple recommendations I've seen above.

Longman & Eagle is amazing and I've heard good things about Yusho. I suppose "cheap" is relative, but Longman has $15 small plates and $20-$25 entrees. Yusho is similar (both are $$$- rated on Yelp). Owen & Engine is a gastropub that I wouldn't call a "short walk" from G-Mart. Again, that's a relative term but Google says its 23min from the Square on foot. I am not a big fan of Dunlay's, it's just ok for me.

Also nearby is Ciao - under-rated little pizza place that is right on the Square. It's a couple of doors down from G-Mart. I've heard Telegraph is awesome but that isn't cheap either.

Again, I don't work for Rewster's. I just love that place and I want to see it succeed. The area needs to keep up it's momentum.

Not really within walking distance of the square, but The Brown Sack is always a good option when visiting Logan Square.

I only wish I'd known we were literally steps from the blue line el station...traffic was a bear! And we didn't get there anywhere nearly early enough to eat. :( That said, now that I've been in the area, I think I'd happily return and try several of the places you all recommended here. Longman & Eagle has been on my list of want-to-try for some time, and itwas just on the corner. Thanks to all who replied.
