Fairly consistent. Pick the one that's most convenient for you.

I don't know if the restaurants are consistent since I have only been to the Oak Brook location. I find that the meals are way inconsistent. I have had some very good meal there and many real clunkers. Seems to be a real hit or miss experience. So are you telling me that all Maggiano's are inconsistent or is the Oak Brook one worse than most.

Maggiano's is pretty terrible. Can you use the gift certificate at a different Lettuce Entertain You spot? If so, that would be your best option. Plenty of Lettuce places that are head and shoulders better than Maggianos.

Maybe it's inconsistency, but I had a pretty good meal a few years ago at Maggiano's in Old Orchard, but my last visit a few months ago was pretty mediocre, at best.

Meals I've had at the downtown Clark street location have always been just fine.

I was at this location two weeks ago for a graduation party. Food and service were fine.

I always (confession time) enjoy the lasagna at the one on Clark St.

I've eaten at several of their locations, including Old Orchard (often), Schaumburg, Oak Brook, and River North. I've found them to be very consistent, and very good (not earth-shattering, but very good - I've never had a bad dish there). Their chopped salad, with grilled chicken added and their house dressing, is my favorite salad anywhere, and I often order it as a main course.

I was a big fan of their steak (served with a veal stock "gravy" that was awesome when paired with garlic mashed potatoes that soak it up). In fact, I never go there for pasta, only for steak. It has been a few years since I was last at Old Orchard, but it was usually really good.

Had a corporate dinner at Maggiano's in Schaumburg last night.

We had chopped salad, eggplant parmesan, chicken piccata, mushroom ravioli, baked ziti w/sausage.

    Eggplant Parmesan was just bad.

Chicken piccata & baked ziti were so so.

I was please with the chopped salad and the mushroom ravioli, the mushroom mix inside the ravioli was quite tasty with pronounce mushroom flavor and the salad was very fresh.

I was amazed at how completely full the place was on a Tuesday night.
I did absolutely nothing and it was everything I thought it could be.

The doc SueF works for hosts seminars regularly at Maggiano's, and she splits the leftovers with another of his staff. The eggplant parm is more of a lasagna with thin eggplant as noodles: No crisp-fried discs, it just isn't parm at all. That being said, I can still enjoy the leftovers.

Other items that are always good include their stuffed mushroom appetizer, and any of the ravioli.

Their mushroom ravioli is one of my favorite guilty pleasures :P

I've only had one menu item from Maggiano's - the meatball sub.

I believe it's only offered at lunch, but it's worth going out of your way for. Garlicky seasoned bread, big @$$ meatballs, mozzarella, and sauce. I haven't had it in years so it's possible I could have enjoyed it before the taste buds have matured, haha.

We love the chopped salad. We get it with the grilled chicken as a dinner salad. We do that carry-out at least once a month.
