Post #1 - July 30th, 2012, 6:38 pmI will be moving into a new office near Clark and Lawrence next month, and am always interested in finding the unknown casual lunch spots. Any good suggestions in this areas? Thanks.

Post #2 - July 30th, 2012, 7:44 pmMy first thought is that you're about a mile from Aroy Thai. Spoon Thai and Rosded are also relatively close. Spacca Napoli is nearby as well. Big Jones and their impressive Boarding House Lunch are only blocks away. Urban Vegan is another solid option. Nhu Lan Bakery and Monti's Restaurant are just a short drive away.
Obviously, these places aren't exactly "unknown" but they'd definitely be on my lunch rotation if I worked near that intersection. I'm sure there are more good ones but these are the few that immediately came to mind.

Post #4 - July 31st, 2012, 9:11 amThere's also the new Bongo Room at Clark and Lawrence. It's not unknown but it stands out on that relatively food-barren stretch of Clark Street.
The new cabeza taco stand that was at Argyle and Clark is now a block south at Ainslie.
Ch'ava Cafe at Clark and Leland has good sandwiches and soup and great croissants.
Baker and Nosh at Wilson and Malden is somewhat new and has good reviews.Logan: Come on, everybody, wang chung tonight! What? Everybody, wang chung tonight! Wang chung, or I'll kick your ass!

Not from me! I've been to Sun Wah twice in the last 30-days and found it same as always, very damn good. I'm really digging the new, as in the last year, chili oil, more heat and flavor. Still like my home-made chili oil better, but Sun Wah is the best easy to obtain chili oil in Chicagoland.trpt2345 wrote:And you're just a hop skip and a jump from Sun Wah. It has a very nice terrace, simple and inexpensive French-American bistro classics from Croque Monsieur with Frites, Good Vichyssoise soup, to Confit de Canard, and quiches du jour. It offers a small but good selection of beers and wines by the glass, and the ambiance is young and relaxed.
The menu is very limited and the servicecan be a bit spotty at times, but it is a very nice place for lunch and is only a few blocks away West from Clark and South from Lawrence
