Searched and could not find any threads about it. Has anyone been? What's the scoop? My cousin just tipped me off to it and Reviews are good.

Be sure to post about your experience once you've eaten there. I'm always looking for new diner/breakfast spots.

Will do. Might try and hit it up for breakfast tomorrow if I can wake up early enough to be the post church crowd. :D

Beating the post-church crowd can be tough; being the post-church crowd is easier.

Mr. Maki and I were just there yesterday, actually! I've mentioned it in this thread. They also got talked up in this local podcast, too.

I have some leftover corned beef has in my fridge right now that I'm going to mix up with eggs....yum!

That's okay- I lived in Des Plaines for 20 years and never went there (I was at the south end of town) until I moved to Prospect Heights.

Another vote for L&L. Classic and excellent diner food in a very inviting setting. I'm partial to the pancakes with a side of corned beef hash. And of course, the requisite hunk o' ham off the bone included with virtually every dish.

Mrs Sweet Willie & I are regulars for breakfast here.

A great family run business, Pop cooks & Mom/daughter serve.

ham off the bone is what they like to serve and even if you don't order ham as your breakfast protein, chances are near 100% that you'll get a couple cuts of ham served to you anyways. Order two eggs, you'll most likely get 3.

I also go for lunch, usually get a patty melt on rye.

    great breakfast spot.
I did absolutely nothing and it was everything I thought it could be.

L&L is one of the best local breakfast spots. A typical friendly family run joint where most everyone is a regular, and after you go once you are treated as one too. Ham off the bone comes with every breakfast; you order sausage you get ham too, you order bacon you get ham too. They don't really do anything fancy; just good quality diner fare served by very friendly and nice people.
I just want to eat what I want and be left alone.
