A couple weeks ago, a group of us sampled some of the West African Restaurants in Uptown. Our favorite on the trip was a small restaurant called Grace that stole the show with bright flavors, spicy gravies, and the best fufus.

Laikom and I would like to return with a big group so we can really get to know the menu. Dinner is planned for Wednesday August 29 at 7:00PM. We've pre-ordered a couple of dishes that are available by pre-order only, so it should be quite a feast. It's BYOB and cash only.

Let me know if you'd like to join us. Eating with hands is highly encouraged.

Would've liked to join you but this conflicts with the Barn Pitmaster dinner. Enjoy!

We talked it over and Wednesday works better for us. Seems we have a knack for competing with Gary's events.

Which is unfortunate as they are typically interesting and something I'd like to attend, e.g. Grace's African.

I'm interested in attending. A traffic alert for those driving to Grace's African is that the Cubs are at home playing a night game on 8/29.

I'm getting really excited and hungry for Grace!

A friendly reminder, it's BYOB and CASH only. I'll bring a big bottle or two to share.

It's spicy and oily, of course if you know me, I like to cut through that with a sour beer. I'd also recommend anything crisp, dry, light or refreshing. IPA would be good.

I suppose I should stop calling it Grace's, since the name of the restaurant is Grace African Restaurant. I don't even know if there is someone named Grace there.

    See everyone tonight.

I think it's a midwest thing (or maybe everywhere thing) to add the 's to any business. Where i grew up in indiana, none of the grocery stores had the 's in the name but everyone called them Marsh's, Kroger's etc.
