The next dessert exchange will be on Sunday October 28TH at Laschetts Inn on Irving Pk. Blvd. http://www.laschetsinn.com at 4 pm. For this dessert exchange we will be meeting at a restaurant instead of someone's home to have a meal so this exchange will work a little differently. To accommodate our restaurant attendance we will bring our desserts divided up and packaged in advance so they can be easily passed out and transported home (nothing sayin you can't snitch a taste there but most will be quite full on the food). Suggestions to facilitate the exchange are things like cookies, bars, pound cake, tea or quick breads, and other easily transported things. Portions should be placed in give away containers, ziplocs or wraps and each attendee should bring a bag of sorts to transport the goodies home. If you have not attended a dessert exchange before, this would be a good opportunity to come and join the fun, and meet new friends who are interested in cooking, baking and eating!! :D

Attendance will be limited to 12 people. Registration will end at twelve or the Wednesday before the exchange (which ever comes first) so the attendees will have a precise count of how many portions to bring.

why is the next exchange being held in a restaurant? if it's because no one wants to host, i'll be happy to volunteer.

    Hi Joan,
We spoke about this at a prior dessert exchange in the summer...it was not that no one wanted to host it but there seemed to be interest at the time to go out to eat at a restaurant once a while just for a change of pace and for fun. I would say that if there are not at least five or more people signing up for this then it could be changed, as that will show there is not the interest in doing this. Probably will hear over the next few days whether there is interest. Of course there is always November to host too. Hope you are well.

Okay I will put you down but remember to bring individually wrapped portions of food to hand out because we will not be able to conduct the dessert exchange in the same manner. Chocolate bread pudding sounds great. You could probably bake it in the individual foil tins. I think I will do that for mine. I will get the mini loaf foil tins. I guess if its not too liquid you could wrap each portion in foil and stick it in a zip lock.

    Hi,

The reason this pic is not showing, it was an image hosted on Land O'lakes (LOL) website. It is considered bandwidth stealing, which LOL solved by changing the url of the image and substituting the stop sign.

Irisarbor will need to find the page on LOL's website, then post a link to it.

We have ten for dinner and eight for the dessert exchange. Please bring cash if you can as Laschetts does not like to take multiple credit cards per table. With regard to paying, it would be easiest to add the tip and split the bill per the number of people providing everyone orders something that is similar in cost. Here is a link to the menu. Sandwiches average around nine dollars and dinners roughly fifteen or so depending on what is ordered.

i'll bring cash, thanks for the reminder. but i don't think it's necessary, or desirable, to split the bill. i'm sure we can pass it around without a fuss, and each figure out what we owe. that way people can feel free to order whatever they desire. i hope that wont be a problem. joan
