Dear LTHers: Sorry for the late notice (and I will do a proper search after sending this), but can someone recommend a Chinatown restaurant for a large group of high school students for an early dinner tonight?? Most of them are new to Chinatown, so something not-so-adventurous (and not-so-expensive) would be preferable. Thanks!

    Perhaps . . .

    Triple Crown
2217 South Wentworth Ave. Chicago, IL 60616
    312.842.0088
    http://www.triplecrownchicago.com/

The website says they offer special pricing for large groups.

Edit: Joy Yee is also a good suggestion.

Lao Sze Chuan, see if you can get upstairs if it's that big of a group.

Joy Yee (and Joy Yee Plus) are also very popular with high school and college kids; great bubble drinks, and they don't bat an eye at large groups (the question is basically if there will be enough seating for your party, but early on a Tuesday sounds plausible).

    Good luck.

Edit: Triple Crown is also a good suggestion. Phoenix and Big Three Happiness also handle large groups on short notice.

On the board's last-minute recommendation, my daughter and nine of her classmates ended up at Triple Crown for an early dinner last night. They really enjoyed it -- family-style service for $10 a head! Thanks!
