Last year I made the
Trinidad Black Cake from Saveur.
Now I have a tub of the leftover soaking liquid:
Combine 2 cups of the brandy, 2 cups of the rum, currants, raisins, prunes, cherries, citrus peel, cinnamon, anise, and vanilla bean seeds in a medium pot and bring to a gentle boil. Remove from heat, cover, and let steep for 2 hours.
I didn't like the cake enough to make it again. Any recipes for a different fruit cake, meat marinade, or a mixed drink that I could use this in?
Thanks!
