Bad Wolf Coffee, a coffee and pastry cafe, is going to open in Roscoe Village/West Lakeview at 3422 N Lincoln.

The owner/chef is a vet of Schwa and Momofuku Ko. I was lucky enough to have lunch at ko earlier this year while he was there and it was AMAZING.

Article says he hopes to open in late November. @boudreaulicious! It's your hood!

    Kaufman’s Update
Due to some unforeseen scheduling issues in the inspection process, we are revising the opening date of Kaufman’s Bagel & Delicatessen. We apologize for what we hope is this final delay but it could not be avoided. If all goes according to plan, we will be able to start cooking late next week and be ready to open the doors on November 5th.

LPython wrote:Center Square Journal tells us an unnamed "major chain" is planning a brewpub near the intersection of Ravenswood and Lawrence. From the wording, it's hard to tell whether this refers to a major chain restaurant looking to branch out into brewpubbery, or an already established brewpub looking to expand its Chicago presence/enter the Chicago market. Care to speculate? My money is on a CraftWorks joint, like Old Chicago or Gordon Biersch.

    Probably BJ's Brewhouse.

Interesting. From what I'd briefly read about the redevelopment of the parking lot/Sears auto center parcel west of the soon to be built new Metra platform, it was going to have a new Mariano's location, and residences in the back. I guess there will be at least a few other retail stores going in this yet to be built development(and I would suspect that'd be in the front part of that parking lot/auto center property), including whatever brewpub was considering opening a location here?

The only news really I can add to this thread, is I can tell some work is being done on the former Sushi Luxe space(5204 N. Clark) in Andersonville. It's still papered over, and no coming soon signs have popped up yet. Very surprisingly, there's still no sign of any sort of possible new business in the former Frida's/Angel Restaurant(yep, I vaguely remember the latter as well) space, north of Balmoral/Clark. Marigold still has yet to open in the former Ole Ole space, and just when I thought work was just about to progress on it(with the neon bulbing removed on one side of the Ole Ole neon sign) in September, I've yet to see further progress occur on that space since.

I'm sure it was reported somewhere else on LTH already(though somehow not posted here already), that Jerry's Sandwiches finally opened in the former Star Gaze bar space about 2-3 weeks ago. Well, this is someone who lives just north of there and keeps an eye on new developments, signing out.

Canyons Burger Company, a gourmet burger concept similar to Smashburger, Meatheads and Five Guys, opened their first Illinois franchise in Westmont last week. It's located in the Westmont Yards Sports Complex on 63rd Street a couple of blocks west of Cass Avenue. Canyons also has locations in Georgia; Washington, D.C. and Bozeman, Montana.

Looking over their menu, unlike Five Guys, they also offer chicken options, a turkey burger, a few vegetarian options, kids' meals, salads, shakes and beer. Also instead of 'cajun' fries that are offered by their competition, they have sweet potato fries.

If you 'like them' at their Westmont facebook page, you can print out a 'free burger coupon' (which really is $4.29 off of any food choice provided you purchase a drink). The 'free burger' coupon must be redeemed by October 31, 2012.

Joe Oberweis wants to turn the Chicago burger market into Six Guys. The CEO of Oberweis Group Inc. is expanding from ice cream parlors and home delivery of milk to fast food. He opened his first That Burger Joint in Skokie this week, modeled after the Five Guys burger chain and its "better burgers."

It's only been open for a month or two. We ate there recently--it was real cute. Nothing earth-shattering but solid and really reasonable prix fixe/BYOB combo made for a remarkably inexpensive dinner. The parents of the chef run the FOH.

Thank you so much for any information you are able to share :).

I have read a few snippets (including a brief one here on lthforum in the openings and closings) about this soon to open restaurant at 2957 W Diversey - Fat Rice (formerly/almost called Flour & Bones). There was a posting on everyblock . . . .

    http://chicago.everyblock.com/local-bus ... e-5469681/

    . . . . and they are now on facebook. . . . . .

Can anyone tell me more or direct me to an article or other website with information about the venture/chefs/menu/history?
I live in the neighborhood and am very excited about its impending opening!

    Thank you!
