Thats fine. If necessary I do not mind putting it all on my credit card and everyone can pay me if that would be easier. I will bring cash too though.

i think only simple addition is required: don't worry, i can figure yours out for you if necessary. (i know the decision to either split a large bill evenly, or pay just what one owes is a subject of much controversy. LTH has a long and interesting thread on this subject. i'm on the side of paying what i owe, without making a big fuss about it)

i'm looking forward to seeing everyone- it's been too long since i attended a dessert exchange, i'm missed them. and i've never been to laschetts, so i'm looking forward to that, as well. till sunday.....

    Hi,

I think it is better to bring enough cash for everyone to pay the restaurant cash. It just is cleaner for everyone.

    Hi,

Personally, I do like family style where we try a number of things. If you insist on paying for what you order, fine. Don't ask to taste my steak tartare! I only share if I have to! :D

I am game to try things but not the steak tartare. Cathy you won't find me buzzing around the raw meat ready to snarf some up. But I would try to eat as many potato pancakes as I can snitch.

    Hi,

I propose the people who want to order their food and figure out their bill, great.

For those who don't mind family style, great. We just make sure to sit together.

Let the bar tab be on a separate bill, because some people like their beer more than others.

    Hi,

I made seven-layer magic cookie with a twist: instead of sweetened condensed milk I used dulce de leche or caramelized sweetened condensed milk.

One thing I noticed, it was far easier to pour out of the can.

Ms. Ingie wrote:I am bringing a pad and pen so everyone can write down their amounts and keep a running total. That should satisfy everyone.

There may be two different ordering styles: those who want to share and those who want to eat and pay exactly what they ordered.

Those who want to eat and pay exactly, they need the pen and paper. Those who go for a group shared meal can subtract from the bill the precise order and eat, then divide the rest.

Since we are allowed two tabs, I suggest food on one and alcohol on the other.

We will make this work! :D

Clockwise beginning with the Pumpkin pound cake from Toria, Sparkling Candy Corn cookies by Irisarbor, Seven layer magic cookie using dulce de leche, Salted nut bars from SueF, Pumpkin white chocolate chip cookies by Gohan Lover and Pumpkin Rocks by Ms. Ingie.

It was a lovely, albeit long evening. (I think they may have been understaffed.) Dobra was thrilled and sends her thanks thanks for her bag of goodies.

On a sad note, my friend's son passes at 5:15 pm this evening. I think I was feeling it, it's been a tough day.

i'd be happy to host next, unless someone else wants to. if there's a consensus to skip december, because of cookiemonster's cookie exchange (she'll be posting about that soon), then how about mid january on a sunday? i think the second sunday in january is the 13th.
