Not sure if this was reported or not, but their new location finally opened (within the past week I believe based on what people have posted on their facebook). I walked by today and they were fairly busy.

Very nice! Didn't see any news about it. Thank you very much..

According to Eater, the Russian/Turkish bath house in Wicker Park is finally opening again in Mid January with a new cafe/lounge. Will have a salon/spa, the bathhouse, and a bed & breakfast as well. Can't wait...Chicago needs a bath house again

On the West Side of Taylor Street, aka 'Tri-Taylor', Joe's (corner of Claremont and Taylor) has closed and the Western Avenue Shrimp House has moved from its spot on the far side of Western Avenue north of Taylor to the corner spot that Joe's had occupied... But the new place is called Joe's Shrimp House, I believe... It's up and running, as of last week...

Opa! in Vernon Hills is closing on 12/31 (according to a sign on the front door). I couldn't find any other info online. I will have to stop in at least one more time before they are gone...it was a good Greek restaurant in the area.

Grabbed the BBQ Pork today, tastes just like they do on Broadway. They've got a sandwich and soup deal that looks pretty good - a choice of 3 or 4 sandwiches and a couple or three different kinds of soup. I'll have to try it. It's a slightly weird space, very long and narrow. There's actually quite a bit fo space but its a little awkward moving around in it once a line develops (and by noon, there was a decent line).

The building that housed Blockbuster on Chicago Avenue in Evanston is just about gone (torn down), and the two properties to the north have construction fences around them, so it looks like the long-awaited Trader Joe's is finally underway.

Very sad for West Lakeview. Great tortas, great service, never skimped on the giant pieces of avocado on the sandwiches, salsas fiery, griddled steak flavorful and chewy. R.I.P.

According to a post on their facebook page, it appears that Doña Torta has soft-opened at their new location at 26th and Christiana.

A store called "The Beer Temple" is opening at the corner of Elston, California, & Belmont...3185 N. Elston...home brewing equipment, craft beers, etc. - and the owner has broadcasted a "wayne's world" type show with the same name, but Beer focused, for quite some time. Looks interesting...sign went up today, and according to Facebook - they passed all of their inspections yesterday.

No exact location yet; Gus hasn't completely finalized the deal, so as specific as he gets for now is that it's ". . in the city." Presumably meaning Chicago, though he ain't sayin'. 8)

And now we'll be getting another burger place. The 2nd location of Kuma's will be opening in the old Counter space, according to Dish

The impatient metalheads waiting either for a table or for food at the heavy-metal burger bar Kuma’s Corner, speculating about when the long-hungered-for second location would ever materialize, now need to wait only a couple more months, which is about equal to how long the wait felt in the first place. Kuma’s Too (666 W. Diversey Pkwy., 773-472-2666), a location surely chosen in part for its bitchin’ address, is scheduled to replace the Counter by February. With 73 seats, KT will be larger than the flagship. As for whether it will duplicate the hard-rock look, Michael Cain, the owner, says, “It’s going to be cute, I guess.” Here’s a rule of thumb for when it opens: If the line at the original stretches past Ravenswood, you’re better off turning around and going to the new place.
