Family friendly sunday brunch for a special b-day

Any thoughts on a good brunch place for a family. It will be my 40th b- day. Looking for something with good food, but also kid friendly. I was thinking a downtown hotel, but willing try something else I. The city or close to oak park.

I'm sure others will chime in with some ideas, but I would recommend doing a bit of leg work reading through some of the many, many existing brunch threads that already exist and perhaps letting people know a bit more about what appeals to you (in terms of cuisine, price, more specifics on what parts of the city, etc).

I'd start with a google search of the word "brunch". You can easily amend that search to include other terms.

I'd recommend checking out The Publican, North Pond, Balsan, and Perennial Virant.

Thanks. Price is not an issue. But need a place that will welcome my 5 year old and 2 year old twins. Also, need tradditional kid friendly waffles, but a more interesting menu for dh and I beyond the waffles.

Shaw's is still my favorite brunch in the city. I described it (and what I love about it) in a previous post (click here for my previous post, and here for their menu). I always see plenty of families there with kids of all ages, so it's kid-friendly (although so are pretty much all brunches). And it's all-you-can-eat.

The kids will be welcome at Shaw's. And they make waffles right next to the carving station, with various toppings you can put on them.

All good choices; North Pond deserves additional praise for its exquisite location in the middle of the park, even in winter.

I'm not sure how kid friendly North Pond is.
