Hi- I thought this was interesting. The Pub at Monte Carlo has a burger challenge. The burger contains 4 pounds of angus beef, one pound of cheese, a two pound bun, and lettuce and tomato, for a grand total of 8 pounds. BTW- This monstrosity contains 11,000 calories. You are expected to consume this hamburger, plus a quart of root beer or beer, in 45 minutes or less. You have to give them $29 up front, and if you finish the challenge, you get your money back. If you don't finish the challenge the price of the meal goes up to $49. Out of 150 people that have tried this challenge, only three have succeeded. This sounds like a good Man V. Food challenge.

Eight punds is more than I can imagine eating.
I can do a lb. no problem. I can do 2 lbs. if I'm really hungry. I've done 3 lbs. on rare occasion.
But 8 pounds?! I can't even think about it.

That is insane. I once ate a 64 oz. steak at a place in Fargo ND (same sort of deal, I finished it and didn't have to pay) and it nearly killed me. Just thinking about eating twice that much beef makes me feel ill.

Hi- The Burger in total weights 8 pounds, and so you are ONLY consuming 4 pounds of angus beef, and the rest is the cheese, lettuce and tomato and bun. There is no way I could finish even half of one of those. I just meant that this would be a good place for the show on Travel channel Man V. Food to visit. Does anybody know if Adam has ever failed one of his challenges? When I was watching the show Saturday, he was sharing a 22" double crust pizza with someone else, and he saved the ends of the crust for last, and when he conked out, his partner helped him finish it.

I told one of my sister's when I saw her at Christmas, that he had visited Acme Oyster house, and had consumer 100 oysters, and she had a look of disgust. She has never seen the program. When I looked it up again last night, I discovered that he consumed 180 oysters in one sitting. Thanks, Nancy

    Nancy,

What kind of training are you doing to ramp up for the challenge? I've heard some competitive eaters say that they drink lots of water in the days leading up to their competition to stretch their stomachs. That sounds like a pretty good strategy, but if you do that, will you have to make extra trips to the rest room on the flight to Vegas? Be sure to post lots of pictures. I can't wait to see you take on that behemoth! BTW, did you get a good deal on the air fare?

A misguided attempt at humor, I reckon.
