Apparently the building boom in Shanghai has reached its zenith with the construction of a theme park built entirely of chocolate. 100 tons of chocolate.

I'll miss this on my next trip, since it melts away on February 16th. I know you can buy a life-sized Xi'an warrior in terracotta as a souvenir, but wouldn't it be great to have one in chocolate? Kind of leaves the Easter Bunny in the dust, eh?

Man : I can't understand how a poet like you can eat that stuff.
    T. S. Eliot: Ah, but you're not a poet.

Welcome to Las Vegas, a theme park of sorts.

Thanks, Steve. I love it. However, there is a much better chance that I'll get to see next year's Chocolate Theme Park in Shanghai than that I will ever get to Las Vegas. The thought of all that past-its-prime shrimp on buffets has my stomach permanently set against the idea.

I think you have already missed it! :)

Shanghai Chocolate Dream Park, the China’s first chocolate theme park, opened on December 16, 2011, and the park is scheduled to open for 66 days, lasting to February 19th, 2012.

Ah! But it looks like it is being held again this year from Jan 18-Feb 24!
