Post #1 - January 18th, 2013, 11:05 pmHi, my mom's jewish sweet and sour cabbage soup recipe includes cans of "Snapee Tom" spicy tomato juice. I've looked at Sunset, Fresh Farms, Garden Fresh and Mariano's and haven't found this anywhere. Any thoughts on how to substitute? I could use hot and spicy V-8 but since I don't know what Snapee Tom tasted like I don't know if it's a good sub.

Post #2 - January 18th, 2013, 11:48 pmQuick research on the internet shows that lots of people are looking for Snap E Tom tomato
juice. Supposedly it has chili puree in it. It appears to be almost impossible to find. If anyone might have it Woodmans would. It can also be purchased on Amazon but if you look at the reviews, many people say it does not taste as they remember it and it is not zippy but tastes like regular tomato juice. My advice would be to use V8. You could use the spicy or the plain V8 and just add your own heat to it such as a few sprinkles of tabasco or some other chilies.Toria
