    can you guys indulge me for just a minute? my dad, who has always been very witty, clever, and punning, has dementia. i just stumbled upon a long list of haiku he wrote maybe 10 years ago- they all feature spam. i think eric zorn, in the tribune, had put out a call for them and my dad sat down and rattled off several dozen in one day. i've always found them to be very funny. there was a time when i'd have a different one on my answering machine every month. i had to stop that when my friends complained about having to listen to the long message over and over again. i'd like to share a few of my favorites, as he won't be writing any more. thanks. joan

    my tent is leaking
    all i have to eat is spam.
    i'm discontented.

    in my red honda
    i traverse the brooklyn bridge.
    it is a short spam.

    see michael jordan
    put globe into a circle.
    it is a spam dunk!

    does 1 bite of spam
    by FDA analysis
    cause paralysis?

    will i never learn?
    i spent all the day crying
    and over spilt spam!

    Spam was once a food,
    Now it clogs up my inbox.
