I am looking for a restaurant that's in the northern suburbs that can host a party of about 65 people. I'd like it to be around the Libertyville or Lincolnshire area and I'm hoping to spend around $20 a person. Does anyone have any recommendations? This would be for a late lunch / early dinner on a Sunday.

Will even consider Northbrook, Buffalo Grove, and possibly Schaumburg area. Any suggestions please?

When I saw your title, I immediately thought of Royce, but Royce is in Highland Park.

It is a fairly new place - they do have their menu online. They also have a nice kid's menu, which I thought might be important for your group.

It definitely fits your price point, and since it's a big restaurant, fitting your group in shouldn't be a problem.

For size of party, location, and price point, I'd throw Bucca Di Beppo (Wheeling) into your list of possibles.
We cannot be friends if you do not know the difference between Mayo and Miracle Whip.

Bucca is not a bad idea. Thanks! As for Royce I think I'd like to do something better than s burger place. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated

It sounds like you are misjudging Royce. It is not just "a burger place" like Five Guys etc. It is from John Des Rosiers, the chef at the upscale Inovasi in Lake Bluff, and occupies the space where his Italian restaurant, Moderno, was until recently. It's a very nice restaurant, not a chain. Now, it may not be the best choice for a group that large - it's tough to serve 50-65 burgers at the same time, and their other dinner items may be too pricy for you - but I wouldn't rule it out by pre-judging it as "just a burger place".

Also, it's going to be difficult to have a large dinner banquet anywhere while spending only $20 per person, even assuming you do a cash bar so there's no alcohol. You might hit that price if you go to a pizza restaurant or maybe Chinese, but even a place like Buca di Beppo is probably going to be well over $30/pp (including tax/tip, non-alcoholic beverages, etc). Unless you're thinking in terms of a cocktail party, i.e. hors d'oeuvres only, rather than a full dinner.

Opentable has the ability to show and filter its restaurants that have private dining rooms/areas. Click here for a list of 22 restaurants in the north and northwest suburbs with private rooms/areas for 51-100 people: (website address deleted because it's apparently too long for posting here, sorry). Oops, that didn't work. Click here and then use the filters on the left to narrow it down to north and northwest suburbs, and places that hold 51-100 people.
