Bought a bottle of Jailers Premium Tennessee Whisky yesterday for $23 (Tenuta's, Kenosha, WI). I had never seen it before so I took a chance. Just did some research-it is from Tennessee Spirits Co. (division of Capital Brands) lead by David Scheurich (formally of Woodford Reserve). It does not have its own distillery but is building one so I do not know where it is made. It is 43% alc /86 proof. Mash bill is 80% and is aged 4-5 years. For a home pour it is fine- it is smooth and a little sweet which frankly I do not mind. It seems close to Rebel Yell, Dickel and Evan Williams which are less costly. There is a Rye variety that is more expensive ($45) and I did not see it at Tenuta's but that seems to get better reviews. Anyone tried this?
