    Hi all,

I plan to visit a couple of this year's GNR nominees on Friday March 1 and hope that some of my fellow LTHers are up for joining me.

Stop #1 will be at Scofflaw (3201 W Armitage). Stop #2 will be at Cafe Orchid (1746 W Addison). I suppose that if anyone's still hungry after that, there's always Ghareeb Nawaz for a potential Stop #3.

We'll begin at Scofflaw at 5:30 pm (or anytime after that, as people's work schedules allow) with some cocktails and some snacks, which we'll order off the menu. At around 8, we'll head over to Cafe Orchid for dinner at 8:30. I've made a reservation there but haven't pre-ordered anything (which we can modify if so desired). In the interest of maintaining quality, I'm going to limit this to 12 people. If you're interested in joining us, please sign up below. It should be a great opportunity to socialize on a non-school-night, while checking out a couple of this season's nominees in the process.

    Thanks,

    =R=

Excellent. I'll refrain from putting you on the list since the space constraint will be at Orchid.

Same here. I'll swing by scofflaw, but I just had dinner at Cafe Orchid (post to come), and I don't want to take up a spot there so someone else can attend.

Awesome! Everyone who's posted so far is in for the dinner. I'll now start a wait list for anyone else who's interested in attending the dinner portion of the evening.

Obviously, with Scofflaw everyone should feel free to come by, regardless. It'll be a mill-about "happy hour" situation at the bar.

    Ok, got it.

1 spot for dinner is still open.

Tarte tatine is now confirmed for the dinner at Cafe Orchid. That means we have 1 open spot for the dinner, to which nr706 has the right of first refusal. If you're solo and want to attend, please post here and nr706 can decide how he wants to handle it. I'd hate for there to be an open seat at the dinner but I don't want to split up a happy couple on a Friday evening, either.

    Thanks,

Planning to stop and see you all at Scofflaw but I just had a very delicious dinner at Cafe Orchid (waiting for Steve to post first since he took pics!) on Monday evening so will let others have the pleasure.

    Hi all,

Frank, it looks like you're in. If you can't make it, please let us know here.

Tom, I'm sorry it didn't work out for you and Sharon to both attend. If that changes, I'll let you know asap.

And again, everyone is welcome for the Scofflaw portion of the evening.

    See everyone tonight,

Hate to screw this all up, but I just discovered I've got car problems--and no way to get to Scofflaw or Orchid. Unless someone thinks Evanston is not too far out of their way and could give me a ride, I'm afraid I'm out. I understand that is highly unlikely--Evanston is not on the way to anything.... Fun times last night. Thanks, to everyone who came out. I don't want to go into too much detail here because it'll just be lost forever on this particular thread but I will say that I thought both nominees we visited made excellent showings. But more importantly, it was a fun, fun night. :)
