Yesterday, I was cruising past Armitage and Sacramento- where there's been a space I always felt would
    make a "Killer ________", dunno-
Donut Shop, breakfast-ey Wishbone-esque kinda place- a fusion Taco joint,
    etc....and saw activity.

    Lots of it.
Like- a Restaurant in a day- kinda activity.

Signage looked legit- said it'll be a 24 hour spot.
All sorts of breakfast items- but, then I thought......wait a minute bucko- isn't there a lot of filming
going on in da hood for The Chicago Fire TV series?
So- today- I drive buy- EVERY STINKING PIECE OF FIRE EQUIPMENT's parked on the site- movie Trucks all over-
and- lights, and "crew tents" galore.
So- the morale to this story is kids-
do not believe everything you "see" in this City ! .....cause- sometimes....it's only an illusion.

Wait. My mind is blown. I've been watching them put work into this "that would make a killer______" for the last 6 weeks. I drive by it literally four times a day since it's on my way to work, and I walk my dogs midday.

First they expanded the joint by about 8 feet to the east. Then they equipped the roof with what I believed (and still believe) is a kitchen exhaust system. Additionally a wood patio was built on the east side of the building. The sign went up on Thursday of last week, and I too saw the film crew for Chicago Fire in the a.m.

Today the sign was down, and it appeared that the patio was being removed. Wtf? I can't believe all that construction was just for filming Chicago Fire.

    Welcome to Tinseltown, my friend.
In my mind- I had already thought
of Ham-Off-Bone-Hash being on the menu, along the lines of Patty's Diner in Skokie-
until the curtain was pulled back.
    :(

I believe I read something in Crain's about this space a few months back. The Longman and Eagle team bought it. I think it's going to be a BBQ joint.

I live around the corner from this place. There is definitely going to be a restaurant there. There have been public meetings about zoning changes and there has been plenty of work going on over the past few months.

Initially I had heard BBQ, but most recently, I believe, the concept had migrated to some type of fish and chicken shack. At least one of the owners is affiliated with Longman & Eagle. I had heard that another investor is Mark Fishman, Logan Square landlord and, more recently, restorer for the Logan Theater.

I was a bit surprised to see the sign for Tuxhornes Diner pop up. I had attributed it to ever shifting Chicago restaurant trends. Diners are hot. But this makes a bit more sense. Whatever the place ends up being, I look forward to having it in the neighborhood. I agree it is a great location.

More signage has gone up in the last few days, and some internet searching yielded this: http://timeoutchicago.com/restaurants-b ... unces-chef

    I'll start a new thread in 3, 2, ...
