Not mentioned, I believe, are The Coq D'or and Trader Vic's(a chain, yes). Fortunately, supposedly, the manager who was hellbent on running the Chicago incarnation into the ground is no more. The Coq D'or luckily has survived an attempt by recent transplant Jeffery Eugenides to reawaken the charms of both it and the Cape Cod room to the hipster hordes. The bar still gets busy, but not repellently so. Did anyone post on the Underground Wonderbar?

I haven't been there in years, but The Village Tap is fantastic, with good atmosphere and decent selection of draught beers (26 beers on-tap, mostly domestic microbrews.) They also have a nice beer garden, and (at least last time I was there), a stack of board games to help while away the time.

I went here for the first time yesterday and was very impressed with the small place and the bar eats they had on the menu. I had some .25 wings and a very respectable burger with tots. The wings I had were deep fried and then finished on the grill, nice black char marks. The only small quibble was that there needed to be more buffalo sauce, and I will ask for a side next time. This will go in my rotation, of Cleo's, Paramount Room, DeLux, Matchbox and Old Oak Tap.
They had the .25 wing special and all pints $3.50 on Tuesday, but they have some sort of special everyday.

Carol's Pub on Leland & Clark is interesting.

I enjoy the Goldstar bar-just grimey enough to keep out the riff-raff.

Also Cody's, probably the best place for darts in the city and baci in the summertime.

I haven't been to Cody's since I lived in the neighborhood a couple years ago but the most endearing part of the bar was the fact that all dogs are welcome off leash as long as they're well behaved. While living nearby, it was priceless to be able to stumble to a corner bar, let the pooch mingle and just be able to enjoy an unpretentious neighborhood hangout. With an effort to keep this thread relevant to the 'Eating Out' forum as opposed to the 'Something to Drink' forum, I can offer this: They don't prepare any food on premises. However, they have amassed quite a folder of takeout menus that, as a collective, would shame most bars' individual menus. Along with the occasional appearance of the tamale man, I'd take this bar's culinary options over most bars. I'd much rather a bar come clean that booze is their business than take some half ass attempt to put frozen food in the microwave/fryer and call it 'pub grub.'
