As a bi-product of their Google Glasses research, Google announced their new "Nose" service today. Now you can know what a certain food item smells like, before you actually taste it. If you're going to a new restaurant and you wonder about a certain dish, Google Nose can help.

On the way home from dinner last night, a friend was asking me about the difference in taste between two spices. "Someone should invent a flavor app to help decipher all of these weird menu descriptions with ingredients most people haven't heard of." Got home, turned on the computer and--what do you know?--there's Google Nose!
