I have no connection with this company but stumbled upon it because I was looking up something for my mother because one of these sales is in her building.
There is an estate sale featuring two vintage stoves for sale (among other things) in Montclare. I looked at it and remembered fondly my grandma having one of these monsterous white stoves in her basement where she occasionally did cooking. I post this not because I have any interest in promoting this website but only because some folks here might be lovers of these old stoves and be interested in them. In looking at the past sales it appears that there have been more vintage stoves that have sold. I have heard of people getting these repainted and reconditioned. They certainly seemed to be built well to last as long as they did.

to see it click on the left side button that says upcoming sales and look at the one in Montclare. Scroll down to see pictures. These sales are a good place to pick up vintage kitchen items, pots and dishes as well as sundry other things provided the price is right.

True but where do you think you are going to get a stove like that. By the way not all are dead the people my mom knows are consolidating in FL so they are just selling off the contents of their condo here. FWIW half the stuff in my house is dead peoples stuff. I even eat off dead people's plates.

Have you tried Lehman's Hardware in Kidron, OH?

They have stoves based on designs from the 19th and early 20th centuries.

The one advantage of the hand-made stoves over the normal retail models is that they avoid a lot of the cheaply made components that are causing so many recalls at GE and Whirlpool.

My real interest is in one of these:

    A gas refrigerator.

Yes, I am aware of the Servel gas refrigerators produced from 1933-57 that had some major issues.
