Where can I buy instant pudding mix with no artificial dyes?

I need this for my child's preschool classroom to make next week. Must be no cook and I would like no artificial food dyes in it as my chid reacts to those. Need chocolate and vanilla. I have struck out at Aldi, Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. I'll be making the rounds of a few more conventional grocery stores tomorrow but would welcome tips on any sure sightings. TIA.

Thanks, but that mix recipe requires cooking the actual pudding. There is nowhere to cook it, only a fridge to set it. I have seen some recipes that are more instant but I really just want to buy it in a box at this time. I don't really want to ruin pudding for preschoolers.

Did you look at pudding cups in the refrigerated aisle?

Hi- I think she wants the kids to make it. I am surprised that Whole Foods does not carry it. They don't carry instant pudding at all? You might try looking on some of the food allergy sites. I ran across something on Amazon last night that is used a lot by people that have food allergies, that allows the pudding to set without cooking it, but I don't know if you have enough time to order it.

I've gone looking for recipes, and found several (including Alton Brown's) that purport to be Instant Pudding Recipes, but every one heats the mix with milk or cream until boiling, then chills. Hardly instant.

Jello Instant Pudding uses "modified" corn starch. It might be possible to obtain modified food starch for use in low-temp gelatinization. I know that potato starch will gelatinize at room temp (I just had it "clot" a Chinese sauce I was making last night), you could experiment with that.

Aha! A search for "no cook pudding recipe" found one here. It uses clear gel, and needs vanilla extract added to the mix -- powdered vanilla would be another option.

Thanks for the tips. I really just want to buy a box of something this time. It is what the teacher requested. And I would like to find one to buy for our family anyway, although I may go the instant clear gel route, too.

Today I went to Jewel and Family Fruit Market, both near Six Corners. I got Dr. Oetker's chocolate mousse but I am going to keep looking. The mousse seems to require a mixer and the teacher prefers them to mix by hand. And I still don't have vanilla.

Next stops: A&G, Mariano's, Butera, Fresh Market, various Polish delis and fruit markets around here. It probably doesn't exist but I hate to leave stones unturned.

Whole Foods did not have what I wanted. One you had to cook, another was for use with tofu. Trader Joe's used to carry exactly what I want, but alas no more! Maybe I will check freecyle for that.
