My wife and I went to Yilin last night for our Valentine's Day dinner. We pretty much go there or have food delivered from there about once a week. The service is always great and I've yet to try a dish here that I don't like.

We enjoyed the seaweed salad and the hot and spicy cabbage to start. Then we split 3 rolls: Spring, Golden Dragon and Ice Mountain.

The Spring Roll is one of my "go-to" dishes here. Shrimp, crab meat and avocado wrapped in soy bean paper. I get cravings for this dish pretty often.

The Golden Dragon was asparagus, softshell crab, and crabstick topped with fresh salmon. It was our first time trying this one and I really enjoyed it. The softshell crab had a nice crunch to it and this was another really tasty roll.

The Ice Mountain was crabstick, fresh tuna, salmon and whiter tuna wrapped in a thinly sliced cucumber. We've had this before. This isn't my favorite roll here as I'm still getting accustomed to eating raw fish. Still good but not something I'd order just for myself.

Overall we had another great meal here. We were really happy that they were actually busy last night. We always worry when we go in on a Saturday and the place is empty. Seems they might finally be turning that around. Hopefully the place is around for a long time. We plan to continue to be regulars as the staff always treats us great.

We ordered from Yilin tonight and had the food delivered. It was, as always great. Sadly, we learned from the gentleman who delivered our dinner that Yilin was closing. Too much rent and utilities, too much space, too little parking and the Chinese sushi combo always seemed odd. We hope they are able to reopen in a smaller space more conducive to success. Too bad they did not make it--tough business.

Damn, that really sucks. It's been our go to place in the area since they've opened. Such nice people and good food. I really hope they can open somewhere else nearby.

Did they mention when they're closing?

Man, what a bummer. What they need is a good strip mall spot, like where Yum Thai lives. That corner space is huge. And, yes, apparently cursed.

Yeah; big space, kinda heavy traffic, no parking - it's not a good location.

Thanks, I think we'll make one last trip over there tonight or tomorrow.

There's no shortage of open storefronts in the immediate area. I was so happy to have good Chinese food available close to home while it lasted. I really hope they can find a smaller spot somewhere close.

They're closed. My in-laws tried to go last night and there's a sign saying "closed for remodeling, will open in 45 days."

So, I guess they must already have a new tenant lined up for that space. Lets see how long this one lasts...

I recommend a Thai/Korean/sushi/pizza/Chinese/burger/BBQ place, with craft beers and big TVs to watch sports on and a pancake buffet on the weekends.

Yes, CubsFanFoodie -- Even if they could reopne as one of those smaller carry-out/delivery only outfits, I would be psyched! They were definitely our go-to for Chinese food delivery.

BTW, they had a dish there consisting of pork, mustard greens, and edamame, and I would modify it with tofu instead of pork (though I'm sure the pork would be delicious), and it was quite tasty. Maybe in the next incarnation of Yilin, it will be available.

My wife who has turned 90% vegan loved this dish too, and she's in mourning as well.

I was behind on LTH so had to discover this last night for myself. I agree that a strip mall would be perfect for them. I don't know who can make it in that large space. Very sad.
