Sammy's has indeed closed. There's a sign on their door directing customers to their new location at 250 E. 103rd Street. It's a loss for the neighborhood. It was a solid place where Hyde Parkers, students, construction workers, nurses, and doctors all rubbed elbows in raising their cholesterol levels. Felt like the most down-to-earth place in the neighborhood to get Chicago-style fast food (and the occasional taco for a change of pace, on the Mexican section of the board).
