Out in the same neck of the woods, The Blackberry Inn has indeed reopened but is just call Blackberry. More important, there is a sign (kitty corner) across the street announcing that Fisherman's Inn will reopen this year! I had read that there were new owners. Two more reasons to make the trip to Elburn.

thanks for the heads up on both of these spots(Blackberry Inn was a fine spot for a burger and pint).

Fisherman Inn Elburn's website has some more info and pictures of the renovation to the property and its buildings. Site says they are looking at Fall 2013 to re-open. For nostalgia value alone I will go back once they re-open.

We drove by here today and there is a lot of activity going on in and around the Fisherman's Inn prorperty. There was work going on inside but outside it looked like a lot of restoration work on the ponds and paved areas all around. It was only about 10:30 am so no activity at Blackberry but a sign outside offered $5 lunches.
