Recently went on a trip to New York to visit a friend. Hit up a lot of nice places, so I thought I'd do a quick photodump here rather than post in the stickied NY thread, as that's a great resource and I don't want to pollute it with whatever I'm about to post.
Flew into LaGuardia at 8am April 6th and flew out at 9pm on April 8th. Went through Brooklyn, Queens, but managed to only eat in Manhattan.
First stop made was
The Doughnut Plant220 W 23rd St
New York, NY 10011
Peanut Butter & Strawberry Jam
Black Out
Took a quick train to Brooklyn and attempted to hit
The Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, which was sadly still closed due to Sandy. Too bad.
We walked across the
Brooklyn Bridge to
The Breslin Bar & Dining Room16 W 29th St
New York, NY 10001
Beggar’s Banquet bourbon, maple syrup, aromatic bitters, lemon, cream ale
Check Your Head aged jamaican rum, black tea syrup, aromatic and orange bitters, citrus oils
Pablo Honey tequila, spiced agave, lime

Really really terrific drinks. I think I had 3 of those Beggar's in about an hour and a half, which got me in a little trouble. had to take a cab to the hotel to...rest for a bit.
Around 8pm, we attended friend's friend birthday party #1 at a bar called
Heathers in the East Village. If you want to see what it's like inside, just close your eyes. If you want to know what the vibe was like just click on that hyperlink above. 20 dollar drinks not made extremely well (bartender got about 3/4 through making my Manhattan before brainfarting and letting me know, "I screwed up, gotta start over!") in a room that may or may not be a converted bathroom that gets up to about 120 degrees.
Luckily this place wasn't far from our next stop
WD~5050 Clinton Street
New York, NY 10002

DAY TWOWalked to Hell's Kitchen and had breakfast at a small unassuming place called
Tartina653 9th Ave
New York, 10036
Eggs Benedictine with Parma cotto

It was...fine. The only place that wasn't cash only and didn't have a long wait, so what the hell. Perfectly fine food.
Walk walk walk, stop at
The Meatball Shop (few locations)
64 Greenwich Ave
New York, NY 10011
Buffalo & Classic Beef Blue Cheese & Tomato Sauce
Mint & Chocolate Chip mint ice cream on chocolate chip cookie
Vanilla & ?
Cookie was a special that day, and I don't recall which it was.
Espresso & Chocolate Chip espresso ice cream on chocolate chip

Sliders were 3 bucks a piece, and the ice cream sandwiches were 5. I think it's pretty easy to see why. Huge.
Hit an absolutely beautiful bar in The Maritime Hotel called
La Bottega363 West 16th St
New York, NY 10011
The Hummingbird & Manhattan
repeat those drink orders x2 and hit 2 more birthday parties at 2 different bars and details get a
little fuzzy. I do remember ending up at
Shake Shack691 8th Ave
New York, NY 10036

around midnight and enjoying that. Then drunkenly walking over to Times Square to get a
jumping shot. Then sleep?
The following day, we went to
Le Bernardin which already has a thread, so I'll post there. Right before we had to leave, we ran over to
Halal Guys6th Ave and 53rd St
New York, NY 10019

Which, on my next trip, could easily be the only place I get food from.
But probably not...
