Vegetarian near Allegro Hotel on a Saturday night?

I have a friend coming in from Portland for work and she has Saturday night free. She's staying at the Allegro and she's a vegetarian. This is not a part of town that I'm at all familiar with and I have no idea where to start. I'm sure lots of restaurant nearby offer vegetarian options, but I'm hoping to find a place that is relatively casual and not super trendy. Ideally, it would be a place where we could sit at the bar and have a few drinks and some food without needing to make reservations. Does such a place exist?

Tesori (on Adams at the rear of Orchestra Hall) has a nice selection of pizzas in the bar and makes pretty nice if straightforward cocktails. Easy walk from her hotel. We often go there on Saturday nights before a concert and have never had a problem getting a seat in the bar without a reservation.

I'm quite torn about the Greektown places for vegetarian cuisine. In my experience, most of the restaurants have a small "vegetarian" section that is basically larger versions of the side dishes. Now, many of these dishes are quite good, though perhaps not that exciting. Then you have things like vegetarian Mousaka and Spanakopita. Most of the menu is meat or seafood based. Chicago is a good place to go for Greek cuisine.

Another option is Bar Toma, though I don't know how long the wait would be on a Saturday night.

Sable, at the Hotel Palomar (a sister hotel to the Allegro), has excellent cocktails, a large bar/lounge area, and a pretty vegetarian friendly menu. Perhaps the Allegro could phone ahead and have them save you some bar seats or a lounge table; the restaurant also takes reservations via OpenTable.

Head over to Mana on Division or Green Zebra on Chicago for vegetarian specific food with a bar.

Otherwise, I would hit Lao Hunan and BYOB.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm going to run a few by her and see what she thinks.

I also just remembered that she is newly pregnant, so the alcohol is much less important now.
