Interesting article in today's Sun Times. What particularly intrigues me is the muffuletta at Nola's Cup. The restaurant, at 800 S. Oak Park Ave, in Oak Park, has been open perhaps a month. (In the continuing gentrification of south Oak Park it's in a space that was last a laundromat). It's a block from my el stop. If it weren't the first week (for the millionth and a half time) of WW, I'd go check it out myself. Since otherwise the list is pretty credible, it seems worth a try. Any volunteers to take the caloric hit for me?

    Ann,

Thank you very much for bringing Noli's to my attention. The Wife and I, when still courting in the 70s, went to New Orleans and enjoyed many a muffuletta (which reminded me much of what were called Tunisian Sandwiches, served on Paris' Left Bank at about the same time).

I will try to swing by in the next week or so and report back.

PS. Tried WW about 6 years ago; it works, but the effects have proved transient.
