Next month, my wife is having a dinner for twelve co-workers who will be staying at the Pheasant Run Resort.

    Their primary requirements include:

    1) The restaurant should be with in a 10-15 minute drive.
    2) Needs to serve alcohol
    3) Dinner should cost about $15-25 per person excluding alcohol.
    4) They are not too picky about the food.
    5) A private room is a plus, but not required.

    Thanks in advance.

We've hit up McNally's Irish Pub a couple of times when in the area. Quiet serviceable, passable food, and a well stocked bar.

My wife and I have had some good wood-fired pizzas and gnocchi at Nuova Italia, right in downtown St. Charles. It is housed in an old church, and I believe they have a separate private dining area. Definitely hits your price point.

Sure to make a foodie cringe, but satisfying 12 people who may or may not give a crap about local dining options is often best accomplished at a sit-down casual chain, of which there are several options within half a mile or so of Pheasant Run such as Olive Garden, Chilis, TGI Friday's, On the Border, et cetera.

If they're looking for something more original and/or higher quality, there's always the aforementioned Francescas, or the nearby Za Za Trattoria, or Villa Verone in DT Geneva.

I think that McNally's will be the place they are most interested in. Thanks for the help.

If they're interested in the gringo-Mexican angle, I'm a pretty big fan of El Puente.
