Dave - when you pick up the food, can you ask them what is the difference between 'lake perch' and 'Lake Erie perch.' I wonder if both may be yellow perch.

I have all the picnic supplies waiting by the door.

There is no practical difference between Lake Perch and Lake Erie Perch. Both are yellow lake perch, however the Lake Erie perch specifically come from Lake Erie (as opposed to some other lake). I've confirmed that the Lake Erie perch are indeed yellow lake perch in the past.

That's what I thought the answer would be. It was prompted from reading the contents of the combo platters:

Great Lakes Combo Platter (whitefish, smelts, lake perch and walleye) and the Fisherman's Platter (scallops, shrimp, Lake Erie perch, and grouper)

    Thanks!

sorry folks, I got caught up hiking & boating in the great northwoods these past few days & it totally slipped my mind about today's lunch.
I did absolutely nothing and it was everything I thought it could be.

Humorous moments thanks to the brisk wind, but otherwise an absolutely splendid outing. Good company, as always, plus a wonderful introduction to the fair from Boston Fish Market. Great selection of fish, freshness impressive. Thanks for setting this up, Dave148, and for supplying the dining utensils, Cathy2.
