Lake Como (Bellagio and Varenna)

Just returned from two weeks in Barcelona and Northern Italy, and spent two days on Lake Como in Bellagio and Varenna.

We stayed at the Hotel Metropole Bellagio. Great location, right on the lake, lake view balcony, and a fabulous roof top patio that we had to ourselves for wine and snacks prior to dinners.

We went on some nice hikes around Bellagio and Varenna. We really enjoyed the hike to Castello de Vezio in Varenna where we ate lunch on Friday.

My memory was fading for details of details of two dinners at Ristorante alle Darsene di Loppia and Ristorante Silvio, but would recommend both.

Also had a really nice lunch (and inexpensive) at a wine bar in Bellagio, Appertivo et al. Nice salads and a delicious Pizzoccheri Valtellinesi (a local buckwheat pasta dish).
