    Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a place to go have a nice, semi-celebratory weekday breakfast (around 9AM) for 3-4 people. Something simple but pleasant - and tasty, of course. Similar in ambiance to Lula, Longman, or 2Sparrows. Many places that have brunch aren't open in the mornings on weekdays, which is why I'm reaching out to y'all for help (first time posting!).

    Thanks!

I'd also suggest checking out places that are attached to hotels, since they serve breakfast every day. Sable comes to mind, but I'm sure there are others.

Just had a lovely brunch at Batter & Berries this a.m. No bar there but delicious, pretty place in LP open daily.

Had a rare weekday off last week to celebrate our anniversary and started with breakfast at the Bongo Room in Andersonville. To my surprise, having only previously sat by myself at the bar in the front room, there is a very pleasant patio off the back room. I started with a refreshing and tasty raspberry-pear mimosa (served in a safe and stemless martini glass rather than the more festive and breakable flute), then one banana-Heath pancake, and a side of bacon. Upon the suggestion of our friendly server, crumbling some of the bacon on the pancake worked well, adding nice smoke, salt, and crunch. My husband, who prefers savory to sweet in almost everything, loved the breakfast burrito.

I am a huge fan of Jam; it has become my favorite breakfast/brunch venue.

Longman & Eagle is open 9-3 daily for brunch, and I've found that it isn't that busy on weekdays. Most recently, I went for brunch around noon on a Friday, and the restaurant was maybe 1/3 full.

I also like M. Henry, with locations in Andersonville and (well, M. Henrietta, which I've never actually been to) in Edgewater. And Bongo Room in Wicker Park and Andersonville (also previously mentioned) also comes to mind . . . and then for what it's worth L&E and Bongo Room serve booze (not sure what kind of celebration you want).

    Thanks everyone!

Just for the record, we ended up going to m.henry, which I've found consistently good and a very lovely atmosphere (not too trendy or "hip"), as well as a great area in Andersonville. The breakfast potatoes are the best I've had ... ever? The mango slices on all of our plates was also a really nice touch.
