About 84,000 meals are donated daily to the hungry and homeless people in Chicago. Make a difference this Ramadan...Fast to Feed by supporting the homeless and the hungry. On July 23rd, fast for the day, then join us to break the fast around 7:45pm in the Armour Dining Room located in Herman Hall. There’s only one rule you need to follow*: You can’t eat anything from dawn to sunset, but you are allowed to drink (if this is your first time). So make sure you eat before the beginning of dawn.
The whole goal of this is not only to learn to be more charitable by experiencing the hunger faced by people around you, but when the time comes, break the fast with the Muslim community and experience the joy of eating some international cuisine. That said, please join us in this good cause, and help us feed the hungry. Any proceeds collected from this event will go to support the hungry and the homeless through Chicago Food Depository. You may contact the Muslim Students Association (MSA) by sending an email to
msa@iit.edu or contact Lynne Marie Myer from the Office of Spiritual Life at
lmeyer2@iit.edu for further information.
*There are really two rules. You must also fill out an RSVP form.
