OK - time to get my butt back in gear before there's an overthrow of power and I get kicked out as Esteemed Coordinator. The July meeting of the LTH North Lunch group shall convene at:

    Lauretta's Italian Bake Shop
    709 S. Lake St.
    Mundelein, IL 60060
    (847) 566-0883

You can read a bit about this place here - viewtopic.php?f=14&t=26577&hilit=Lauretta%27s+Italian+Bake+Shop
Note - this post has the old address. I've posted the current address.

I've never eaten here. However, this spot was recommended by an esteemed member of the LTH North Lunch Group community. As always - bring a friend.

Sorry to miss this. I'm helping a friend move that day. (Know anyone who needs a sofa and coffee table?)

You are right, it is nearly across the street. That would be another fine destination for a future gathering.

    Helen is attending, too.

    EC-

Apparently we are not worthy of inclusion in the events box on the homepage, while the Evanston lunch group, with their fancy little membership cards, is on there. I think that it is time that you demand a little respect for us from the higher powers. I have your back.

Coincidentally, I recently emailed Bean addressing the situation.

I have been detained in Milwaukee and I am very sorry, I will not be able to leave here in time to make your lunch.
Jlawrence01, we have a few free tickets to German fest at The Spice House in Milwaukee, if you want to drop in, I can set two aside for you.

    Cinnamon Girl,

I'm bringing stuff for you to the lunch. If jlawrence takes your gracious offer, I will have him bring it to the shop.

It is for the Wisconsin State Fair. Even if you are not there, you will need it eventually and it is not convenient to mail.

    Cathy2

    JoelF - thanks!

I talked to Cinnamon Girl who may - cross your fingers - be able to make it.

I am bringing my Mom who liked her first visit to Lauretta's and wants a repeat!

I "might" be a few minutes late. Don't panic.

Just returned home from a wonderful LTH North Lunch Group outing at Lauretta's. Great food and company. My Grand Slam Italian sub was huge and tasty.

On our way out - the (I think) owner chatted briefly with Joel and myself. We gave her a quick commercial about LTH. She convinced us that we need to work through the menu for future visits. We shall.

Despite some doubts from a certain LTH North Lunch Group staff member 8) - I have actually picked the location for the August event. Just need to work on a date.

Everything was terrific, including service for a table for 10.
Much as I enjoyed my spinach ravioli (house-made, with a nice light-tasting cream sauce) and soup... I don't think I'll be driving that far for a sub or pasta too often... but I'll remember it's there when in the area.
