Need help for Saturday Lunch

I am looking for a place this Saturday to take my parents to lunch. Turns out its very difficult find a good restaurant (Blackbird, Naha caliber) that serves lunch, NOT brunch (I want a decent selection of entrees and not breakfast items), any ideas?

how about Sable? Maybe not quite as fancy as Blackbird or Naha, but since it is in a hotel, I'm sure they serve regular lunch every day.

Hi- It would help if you would give a general idea of the location you are looking for, and also what type of food and how much you are willing to spend. Are you looking for Chinese or BBQ or what? Chicago is a big city.

Thanks Amata, I was thinking of Sable or the lobby at the Peninsula hotel too. It's strange, many years ago, the only places that serve Brunch are hotels and now if you want a weekend lunch place (and not brunch), you have to go back to hotels again.

NFriday,anywhere in the city is fine (just not suburbs); so looking to spend what Naha or Blackbird will charge for a weekday lunch (unfortunately neither one opens on Saturday for lunch). We don't mind ethnic at all but I haven't found place that serve Saturday lunch that is similar to Naha or Blackbird type of food quality and atmostphere.

Another idea: Frontera's Saturday brunch includes quite a bit which is not breakfast-y. Of course, you may encounter a wait for a table, which is no fun...

Mercat a la Planxa serves lunch on Saturdays, brunch on Sundays I believe and might be a fun choice.

Sable serves brunch on Saturdays and its wonderful! I'd check if they also serve off the lunch menu but I can't wait to do their brunch again!

Sushi Samba Rio is a good option for lunch on Saturdays. They have brunch, too, but lunch is available as well. This place consistently puts out great food. I've been going there for over 5 years and continue to be impressed. It's not super-fine dining but is nice enough.

Dave Burke's is open Saturday. Although they advertise "brunch", I believe their steaks are available any time. While not terribly exciting, RL is open on Saturday. As mentioned upstream, the Lobby at the Penninsula is also open on Saturday. Cafe Spiaggia is open for lunch 7 days a week as well.

I'll second Cafe Spiaggia - we've always really enjoyed our meals there & they take reservations so you don't have to worry about table availability during shopping season. There's also Bar Toma around the corner, for lunch on Saturdays.

I like the background pics on the pump room site. Frank Sinatra and Alice Cooper, Hall and Oates to Jack Nicholson, Woody Allen, Dennis Hopper, Queen Elizabeth, Libarace and David Bowie. The Ike and Tina picture reminds me of a story a friend who worked at the Park Hyatt once told me. They threw Tina Turner out of the Lobby for being dressed inappropriately. That was right after she won a Grammy, but the management didn't know (or care) who she was.

Cafe Spiaggia is a great idea. Their food is unbelievable and well-priced for the quality and experience.
