We'd become very fond of La Lupita and were so delighted when the "closed for remodeling" sign turned out to be exactly that.

This was our first time back since the expansion. Now a much nicer and much larger room (which is not to say large, but still probably four times as many tables as they had before).

Bill made sure the tacos el pastor were as good as he remembered, which is to say, that they were still the best he'd ever had. The answer is clearly yes.

I was delighted that there is now an extensive seafood menu. Although we'd often gotten out of the old place for less than $10 for the two of us, this time I went for the most expensive thing on the menu, a dozen "Oysters La Lupita" for 17.99. As you can tell, they're freshly shucked oysters topped with ceviche and half a shrimp, served with lots of fresh lime. Absolutely spot on. The oysters were good sized and completely fresh and I would guess that the ceviche, which included a splash of what I'm pretty sure was Worcestershire sauce, was made to order. An absolutely splendid meal, and a steal at $17.99.

Service was friendly, although Bill's tacos came out probably five minutes before my oysters. The three hour season finale of Amores Verdaderos was on the tv, and the kids at the neighboring table were cute, as was the young man in the Manchester United shirt who was helping clear tables.

I'd love be able to nominate this for a GNR down the road, so I hope lots of others will go check it out.

Adding their website, since I'm not sure it's referenced above. http://www.lalupita-berwyn.com/

Popped in for my first trial after the remodel.
    Decent.
The elusive red chile for the enchiladas was not to be had this evening. The sauce was ok, just didn't have that deep, earthy, chile flavor that I adore.

News: homemade tortillas every day now.

The standouts of the meal were the rice, the handmade tortillas, and the green table salsa. The salsa was not much more than blended chile, cilantro, garlic and salt, and it was phenomenal. The red salsa was decent, just decent.
We cannot be friends if you do not know the difference between Mayo and Miracle Whip.

Correction. I went back tonight. That green salsa I loved was actually their "avocado salsa."
Tonight's version had NO heat. None. ZERO. Grrrrrr. It was still tasty. I was really hoping for the sizzle tho.
Enchilada sauce was still just 'ok.'
