Does anyone have experience with buying Pixie Crunch Apple's from a farmers market or grocery store (not the tree but the individual apples)? I have never seen them at any store but am curious on how they compare to Honey Crisp Apples which are my favorite. According to many gardening sites the Pixie Crunch™ Apple is sweeter than the Honey Crisp.

"Pixie Crunch (formerly known as Co-op 33) is a release of the PRI (Purdue-Rutgers-U of Illinois) breeding program. It is deemed too small for commercial use, but the excellent quality of the apple lends itself well to home gardeners."

Hi- I have never heard of that particular apple variety. Nichols would be the most likely to carry it, and they come to a ton of farmer's markets including Evanston, Green City, Oak Park, and I believe Daley Plaza and the Federal building. When I googled it, I got mostly nurseries that were selling the tree. I also found one farm in Pennsylvania that grows it.
