I live just the other side of the river from the former Fox and Obel. My patronage was limited for the most part to its excellent breads. Where in the general area of downtown can I find bread of such quality?

It is a smaller selection but Hendrickx Belgian Bread Crafter is gorgeous. Pastoral carries a few breads from Bennison's at its Loop Locations. And to the north, in Old Town, there are some lovely breads at Plum Market and don't forget La Fournette. If you are willing to travel a bit further north, call first, there's also a lovely selection of breads at GNR Floriole.
