It's getting to be meatloaf weather and the Chow Poodle has requested this cold weather staple. Normally, I'd make it myself, but my schedule is crazy right now and I just don't have the time to cook today.

I'm looking for recommendations of who serves a good meatloaf dinner.

I recently had the meatloaf dinner at the Daily Bar and Grill. It definitely scratched the itch for me. I especially enjoyed the garlic mashed potatoes that accompanied the meatloaf.

Four Moons Tavern could be an option for you...

Haven't had it this year but did a couple of times last Fall into Winter and its better than most renditions. Comes with mashed potatoes, gravy and corn for around $11.

None will ever match my Mom's so I rarely order it when eating out, but in my neighborhood (West Lakeview) the most serviceable options are at Harmony Grill and Cullen's.

Would love a report back in the event that you find a really transcendent version worth seeking out.

Ha, well I know it's not much of an viable option for you, but I'm pretty proud of our "Irish Meatloaf" and we happen to host it on Wednesdays! Of course there is a bit of a drive involved...

I'll definitely report back. I know what you mean about not finding one to match homemade I'm a little embarrassed to be going out for meatloaf, since it's something that can be done so well at home. It's just a lack of time that is causing me to look elsewhere.

    I love meatloaf!
The bacon wrapped meatloaf at Uncommonground is fantastic! Both Lakeview and Lakeview locations have it.

    Clipped from the menu:
    bacon wrapped meatloaf
Q7 farm beef, gunthorp farm pork, potato purée,
    bordelaise, seasonal vegetables 18

Haven't had it in a while, but I used to like Moons or Mannys for this.

It's been a while for me too but I enjoy Moon's meatloaf dinner. Definitely nothing fancy. It's everything a diner-style meatloaf plate should be, nothing more, nothing less. And like Ohio House, at Moon's corn is always in season.

So, I never reported back on my meatloaf quest. We ended up going to L.Woods, but it surprisingly turned out that they didn't have meatloaf on the menu. I ended up getting the daily special of breaded pork tenderloin, which was quite tasty. I decided to make meatloaf at home a couple days later to sooth our aching meatloaf Jones.

    L. Woods has added meatloaf as a special on Mondays. Their twist involves barbecue turkey (ground), and the meatloaf expert in my family gave it a big thumbs up. Served with mashed potatoes and corn
