Cafe Amano is another great place. I especially like their Cottage Hill salad...it has a neat banana viniagarette. They also have great coffee (blended by Intelligentsia). They have live jazz a couple nights a week, too. Stopped in last Thurs. and the band was really, really good. Another thing that is neat is that they do wine flights but also do, for example, a Grand Marnier flight, a tequila flight, and a cognac flight. They are also on the south side of the tracks, right across from 100 South.
There are also 2 other new places...Chow (
www.chowtogo.com ) and Tutto Bene. Been to Chow 3-4 times....food is really good...their menu is online and updated daily. THey also have a small rotating cheese selection which has been nice each time I've gone. Interesting beverage selections, too...'yuppie' style bottled iced teas, Dogfish Head beers...
Only 1 small 2 person table, though, so don't plan on eating in there.
The cookies and biscotti are really good at Tutto Bene and they make a caprese panini I like. Haven't tried much of their other savory stuff, but I am definitely hooked on their sweets (coffee is good, too--also from Intelligentsia). It's a really friendly place, too, and they have a counter and tables so you can dine- in.
I second the Nathan's suggestion, btw. The eggrolls are really good and the curries are great. They deliver, too.
