Hoosier Mama’s pies have gotten plenty of LTH love over the years. In my dutiful scouting prior to posting this event, I had one mighty fine chicken pot pie from the Evanston store. The Evanston Lunch Group will check out the new Hoosier Mama/Dollop Coffee & Tea shop for a pre-Christmas pie feast. In addition to sweet and a few savory pies, HM/DC&T serves sandwiches, salads, pastries, and coffee, espresso, and tea.

Please join us! All are welcome.

I see there are many eager pie eaters out there! We are up to 14 people, and I'm going to ask others interested to join a waiting list. The place is fairly roomy, but they don't, as of now, take reservations. I will discuss our group with the Hoosier Mama folks after Thanksgiving and see how many more LTHers they can accommodate.

Hoosier Mama is a pretty big space, so I think as many as wish to come should plan to join us. They still do not take reservations, although I will give them a phone call Thursday morning to give them a heads up. They have two large tables that are used communally, and each one would fit most of us, with smaller tables nearby. Do post if you plan to attend so I can give an accurate account to them that morning.

    Hi,

I won't be able to attend.

I want to go to the Art Institute on Thursday evening as well as help with a Salvation Army dinner on Friday. At some point, I do have to attend to my bread-and-butter duties.

Thanks for organizing and see everyone real soon!

    Regards,
    Cathy2

Hi- I will be attending today, and I might bring a friend. The place is wonderful, but I hope it is not going to be too crowded. A friend of mine went there about a week after they first opened, and when she got there at 4:30 they were out of pies. She ended up just having a sandwich, and said it was very good. She has since been back and loves their pies, and she thanked me for telling her about the place. Thanks, Nancy

I regret that an emergency dental appointment at 1:00 today will prevent me from attending. My toothache would have gotten in the way of my enjoying my lunch, even if the timing had worked out. Oh, well.
