I've loved doing this in previous years but I'm recovering from particularly nasty broken wrist so out this year --- have a wonderful time and post pictures!

So when I changed our reservation from 10 to 13 Lao Sze Chuan cancelled it saying "we don't take reservations for the holiday" which is weird since they had no trouble with 10 people. I'm going to try Ed's Potsticker House and Little Three Happiness. If someone else wants to try to call Lao Sze Chuan, maybe it's just me they don't like...

Aaargh. We may have to drop out if it's not LSC, since LSC has been tradition in our family since the first LTH Christmas Eve event. Let me confer with She Who Plans.

Might I suggest Sze Chuan Cuisine as a substitute? (I wish I were able to join you)

Did you tell them who we were?

I would just try again...I bet if you call and make new reservation you'll be fine. But I second Steve's rec--I loved Sze Chuan and I'm sure they'd welcome you with open arms. And I thought the food was better than LSC. And definitely better than LTH or Ed's with a much nicer atmosphere.

Why don't you try calling and see if you can get a reservation? Maybe they just don't like me. We are at 13 now.

Leek, please add a plus two for me, my parents would like to join us. Are we still looking for a place, or has that been settled? I have been interested in the place that took the spot of Double Li.

The problem was that we couldn't add any more people, not that the whole reservation was cancelled - the restaurant is completely full. So they were just cancelling the "add more people" part, because they weren't taking any MORE reservations for the holiday.

Though I think that maybe they got confused, and thought I wanted to add 13 people, not make it a total of 13 people. There really did seem to be a language difficulty between us, on multiple occasions.

Have not been able contact my +2...

So apparently we ended up with two reservations, one for 10 people, one for 13, and we only had 8 people there.
