Add me in as well. I usually get Sundays off from nursing home duty and with any luck, we'll have my dad home by then.
I will come up with a dessert when my brain clears from the fog.

    Hi,

I have some puff pastry in the freezer. If it is still good, I will make a King Cake with it.

Otherwise it will be a Filipino Sans Rival cake.

If I come, I will be bringing Chocolate Hazelnut Meringues. Dad will be in the hospital until at least Monday. Rita plans on being there Sunday, but if his condition doesn't improve, I may be there as well.

    Ms. Ingie,

You're welcome whether or not you bring anything. This applies to your sister, too, though I guess someone has to hold down the fort.

    Instructions to be PM'd shortly.

I am leaning towards Japanese Fruit Cake. It is not Japanese and has hardly any fruit. I'm restarting my Year of Cake so I no longer will have to remember what month a new "year" begins on.

LOL I do not have a year of anything- although really for me it could be all cookies all the time, since those are my fave.
but I am trying to make myself stretch.

Okay so I am coming out of the throes of the plague but I think I should bow out. I'm mortified by all of my coughing & sniffling and know full well I would not want to eat anything made by someone coughing, sniffling, & sneezing as much as I am.

Regrets. Hope to see you all soon.

    Hi Ava,

I was hoping you would recover. However after having been sick for six weeks with laryngitis and finally back in full voice. I will be very happy not to catch whatever you have.

Chris - I expect to see you on Sunday. Drive carefully!

    Regards,

I realized that this cake is not only four layers, but it's two alternating flavors. I don't have the pans, I'm tired, the hell with it...I made Emergency Blender Cupcakes. They'll have sprinkles, so already it's better.

Great! There is a tradition of something not coming together, then switching to something else. Since this is a group to test recipes out, it fits perfectly.

Light meal will be a Russian zakuskie or appetizers. If our weather were colder tomorrow, I would have made dumplings. My freezer is too full, I needed the outdoor freezer to pull it off.
