Not yet, but I'll definitely be on the look-out for them.

I was in London a few weeks ago and I tried the Walkers brand Thai Sweet Chili Crisps and they were really, really good. I was hoping to pick some more up at Heathrow on my way home but they didn't have that flavor.

While we're on the subject of Kettle Chips, I also really like the Salt & Pepper flavor as well.

I am so ready. If anyone spots these please post.

BTW: have you tried Trader Joe's house brand salt and vin.? Pretty good.

I got a bag of these from Whole Foods Lakeview. These are tasty chips! However, I think the Walkers brand I had in London were better. The Kettle brand has a more distinct lime flavor & is spicier, not as sweet. A great flavor foor potato chips, IMO.

...and while on the topic of thai flavored snacks

Yesterday during a visit to a FONA (a flavor house way out in Geneva) I sampled thai curry flavored microwave popcorn. They had combined the flavors of coconut milk, thai curry (not sure exactly which one they were emulating), and lemongrass and used it to season popcorn. Not sure who they were testing it for, but it was pretty interesting. Another popcorn I tried was Habanero/Cheese. The habanero flavor was clear and clean but it had no heat whatsoever. Not as interesting as the Thai Curry.

I saw a line of Lay's "Sensations" line of chips. They had a Thai Chili and Sour Cream flavor and another Lime-Chili? as well as a few others. The packaging was identical to the Walkers brand from England that I mentioned upthread. Must be affiliated. The only difference was the Lays logo replaced the Walkers.
The Walkers flavor was just Thai Sweet Chili...no sour cream.
Anyway, I picked up a bag and they were pretty tasty!

Thanks for the heads up. I will keep an eye out for them.

FWIW, I did manage to try the Kettle Brand Spicy Thai Potato Chips and I liked them a lot.*

FYI, Kettle's annual pick-our-new-flavor contest has ended, and Island Jerk won.

However, for the next few weeks(?), you can order all five of the competing flavors from kettlefoods.com. 5 5oz bags (your choice of flavors) for $15, 10 for $25, with free shipping.

The flavors are (ordered by my most preferred to least preferred):
    Royal Indian Curry
    Island Jerk
    Twisted Chili Lime
    Aztec Chocolate
    Dragon 5 Spice

All varieties are krinkle cut. I believe, but can't recall for sure, that the Thai flavor was the winner two years.

    Order yours at Kettle's Market.

I can't buy them anymore. I sit and eat them until they are all gone. Every time. Even if I'm full.

The only time I get them is if I know a lot of people will be around so I don't eat the whole thing.

Ed, I agree with your pick of the Curry chips; I shared these with my office for our holiday party and I think it was the general winner, although I'm not sure.

I don't think Thai was up two years ago. I remember more cocktail things like "dirty martini" and maybe some kind of bloody mary thing.

I think most of this years flavors could succeed, although I'd probably put the chocolate last; I wanted to like it but didn't really think it came off so well.

Looks like they're clearing 'em out -- I think that's $5 cheaper than I paid. Maybe they are no longer including the CD sampler, which was really not much to my taste anyway.

I think the Curry one is really exceptional. The flavors and the smells are pretty close to spot on, and it even stains a paper towel yellow from the turmeric.

I liked the Aztec Chocolate as a "wow, it tastes like chocolate, and it's not inedible" experience, but it's not something I'd go for regularly. Something about the 5 spice didn't work for me at all.

    For my own stash I grabbed 3 curry, 3 jerk, 2 chili-lime, 1 chocolate and 1 5 spice.

And I do think they're clearing them out now that the contest is over. It's a great time to snap some up for, as Kettle Chips go, fairly cheap.

In for 3 curry and 2 jerk, both flavors that I generally love but have never tried in chip form. Hopefully the expiration dates will be at least 4-5 months out.

Still included in the shipment. I have no desire to listen to it.

Anyway, my shipment arrived in great condition. They've still got some in stock.

I also noticed that you can buy 15x5oz bags of the thai kettle chips for $30. For the really avid eater, you know.

One more option: Amazon has 15 5oz bags of the Spicy Thai (or any of the other regular flavors) for $23.

OK, enough about the chips. But the curry and thai ones are so very good.

Was at the Foster/Pulaski Jewel this afternoon and noticed stacked boxes of Kettle Chips. They were not in the aisles yet, though they will be in the 'natural' foods section by the time you read this, but the representative nicely opened them up for me.

Jewel had 4-5 types, I bought Spicy Thai, Buffalo Blue and Tuscan, passed on White cheddar. I tasted the Spicy Thai and agree it's a heck of a potato chip. Cost was $2.49 per bag with a .20c discount for using my preferred card.

    Enjoy,

Amazon also often has $10 off $50 deals on their grocery selection, so if you can find somethng else you like that they sell bulk (my mom likes the Glucerna lemon bars), it's down to $18 with no tax and free shipping.

Ed, thanks for mentioning the chips and the mix & match sale here. I placed an order for the exact combination you specified, and they arrived on Friday. I've gone through almost 2 bags already. The curry chips are indeed amazing...and the Island Jerk is a great flavor as well. Glad I stocked up on those two, and I'm looking forward to opening the other 3 flavors as well.

I don't know how new these are, but they're new to me...I just saw at Whole Foods today that Terra has a line of kettle chips with CIA chef-inspired flavors. I wondered about the General Tso, but I was in a more conservative chip mood today and bought just regular salt and pepper ones for myself. These could be worth trying in the future...

Spice things up with Terra Kettles General Tso chips, an intense experience featuring balsamic vinegar, tamari, garlic, onion, honey, and toasted sesame.

I'd bought a bag of these from Whole Paycheck, and was rather disappointed. They're pretty much green-sprayed BBQ chips. The smoke flavor outweighs everything else, and the garlic and basil flavors are neglible.
