    Hey all,

I'm headed to a meeting at DuPage Airport in West Chicago tonight and will be looking for a place to grab an early dinner. From what I've searched on the board so far, Mexican looks to be the main staple, but I know ByBys is closed. What about El Tosoro? Any other recent recommendations?

I'm probably coming straight out from the city on North Avenue.

Are you looking for recommendations to eat anywhere on your way to DuPage Airport, or are you meeting with someone so you're asking for a place in the vicinity of the airport?

Fair question. Looking primarily in the vicinity (but probably eating solo), but on the way is OK too if there's not much in the vicinity. I'd be coming from the NW side, down 294 to 290/North Ave, around 5 this afternoon.

The airport's address is West Chicago but in reality, it's practically St. Charles. West Chicago's Mexican restaurants are quite a bit south of the airport. You might be happier either driving a bit further west to St. Charles, or if you plan to head back to the city along North Ave, finding someplace to eat in Carol Stream, Wheaton, Glendale Heights or Glen Ellyn.

So that leaves some interesting options.
Funky German food with communal tables and occasional live music like Schnitzel Platz
New Italian that I haven't tried yet: Pizzeria de Nella

If you want to go all the way to Roosevelt Road, you can then take either 59 or Winfield Road south to I 88, then follow that east back to 294 or continue into the city on 290. In that case, downtown West Chicago has a place on Main Street, called El Coco Loco or Mr. Papas on Roosevelt at Joliet street, by the Chiquita food market.

I'm waiting on another visit to give Changarro Cocina it's own post but I'll throw it out here in the meantime because it's worth knowing about if out this way. Brazil meets Mexico.
