Recently I was able to try both the thin & thick crust pizza at Ferentino's, specifically the west Lake Forest location.

The thin crust could be a very good pizza but there is far too much cheese on it. The sauce is bright, crust crisp & thin, just too much cheese. Next time I'll order with 1/2 cheese & this should be a delicious pie.

The thick crust was very tasty, good proportions of ingredients. The crust is not crusty/heavy/dense which is what I like about deep dish pizza so if you are searching for a light/airy thick crust pizza, this may be the spot for you.

Some other quotes about Ferentino's from the board, seems there is praise for their sandwiches:

I had grilled chicken sandwich. It was awesome.

I live about a mile from the west location, and walk there to eat a lot. My favorite lunch things are: greek salad, deep dish spinach, and the meatball, italian beef, and sausage sandwiches. The ib is good but not great. My favorite is probably the meatball. Their marinara sauce, which is also the sauce on top of the deep dish pizza, is one of my favorite anywhere. Very simple, just crushed tomatoes with a little basil and garlic......most importantly, no sugar. I am bummed that they ended their lunch special because it was a great deal.
